Ibiza & Formentera are the larger of a group of the western Balearic islands called the ’Pine Islands’. Ibiza has rugged rocky coast in the W with hidden coves and beaches in the S, and a charming landscape ain the interior. Fine beaches and excellent walking trails can also be found on Formentera, the quieter, tiny sister island. The mighty fortress wall of Dalt Vila was built to defend Eivissa against the attacks of malicious pirates. A flood of sun-worshippers in recent years have engulfed the idyllic islands during summer, as well as the clubbers and music lovers coming to the party-metropolis Eivissa, with all its mega-discos and chillout-bars.
